Millions of people around the world are turning off their lights for an hour every March to show their steadfast commitment to protecting nature. Join us on Saturday, March 22, at 20:30!
Earth Hour is the world’s largest international environmental campaign, held globally at the initiative of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
Kazakhstan joined the movement in 2009 with the support of volunteers. The goal of the campaign is to draw attention to the importance of responsible attitudes toward nature and the planet’s resources. Traditionally, millions of people around the world symbolically switch off their lights from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. to highlight various environmental issues. In addition, thousands of iconic monuments and major buildings around the world turn off their exterior lighting. The campaign is also supported by public and private organizations in many countries.
In 2025, Earth Hour in Kazakhstan will be dedicated to the theme of preserving the country’s natural heritage. We invite everyone in Kazakhstan to make a conscious choice — and take the first step toward protecting our native nature.

Since our beginnings, Earth Hour has been known for the symbolic “lights off” in support of our planet. But starting 2023, we've stepped things up, breathing new life into our movement and mission to create the Biggest Hour for Earth.
Whether you’re into food, fitness, the arts, or the outdoors, anyone, anywhere can give an hour to care for our planet. Last year, the world gave more than 1.4 million hours. This year, let us unite and go beyond to create the Biggest Hour For Earth!
